Foxxy has been turning heads for two decades and shows no signs of slowing down. With dozens of awards, lifetime achievement awards, and even Hall of Fame inductions, it is no exaggeration to say that Foxxy is truly a living legend. After winning the Pornhub Model of the Year Award at the 2023 TEAs (Trans Excellence Awards), we sat down with Foxxy to chat about the importance of kindness, being a leader in the community, and the changes in trans representation over the years.
This Pride month, how can allies show genuine support for the LGBTQIA+ community? How can allies show genuine support for all sex workers?
Attending benefit shows or fundraisers, supporting local drag shows or showgirls, donating money and/or clothing to their local LGBTQIA+ centers for those in need, volunteering at the local LGBTQIA+ Centers, and supporting LGBTQIA+ businesses. Allies can show their support to sex workers by showing their love and subscribing to their Pornhub channels, their VIP fan pages, websites, watching and tipping their live cam shows, online platforms, strip club performances, attending the fan expos and by purchasing merch. Make us feel appreciated and let us know we are doing a job well done. That always puts a smile on my face.
You’re truly an ICON and inspiration to the community! Who were your idols when you first began your career in the adult industry?
I was watching straight porn in the 90s before I got into the adult industry. I idolized the women I saw most on the Spice Channel, such as Asia Carrera, Janine, Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Anna Malle, and Lisa Ann, just to name a few. Once I discovered trans porn and became part of it, I definitely had my set of faves such as Vaniity, Danielle Foxxx, Gia Darling, and Allanah Starr. Those were the girls from the era before me, I watched and learned from them. A couple of years into the industry, I became friends with them which was awesome. I got to work with Vaniity and Danielle Foxxx and that alone was an honor.
You’re known for looking after and guiding new performers in the industry. Why is that important for you and what does this guidance look like?
I never thought anyone would want advice from me but once social media became a big part of our lives, I started getting emails and DMs asking how to get into the industry, what companies are good to start with, what to expect on set, etc. The funny question I would get asked a lot was if there were actually “fluffers” or if they had to do a casting couch interview. I didn’t have anyone to ask such questions to. And I never had anyone give me advice in the beginning, much less which companies I could work for. I lived in Vegas and wasn’t around the LA porn valley community so everything I learned was just by experience, and now I’m able to share that with others.
Kindness goes a long way, and you lead by example! We love to see it and wish everyone treated each other with love. Tell us why this matters so much!
Being kind, respectful, trustworthy, helpful, and supportive to your fellow peers is very important. We are a small community and it’s important to keep it fun, safe, and keep the love flowing. It makes everyone feel good, confident, accepted, and happy!
You were named Pornhub Model of the Year at the 2023 TEAs! Congratulations! How does it feel to be recognized by the adult community?
It was surprising and exciting to receive that honor, especially from such a huge company that has become such a positive part of the adult community. Knowing what the award meant and why it was given to me made me feel proud of how far I've come in my career. Learning how many Pornhub views I have is amazing! I owe that to the fans who watch me over and over again. Much love and thanks y’all!
What advice do you have for new trans and non-trans performers in the industry?
PLEASE stay safe, play safe, and be smart, especially outside of the porn community where people don’t always test or test enough. That’s how we all remain healthy and safe within the adult community. Another piece of advice is to be yourself! People love others for being unique and genuine. Don’t be afraid to stand out from everyone else. There is something special about us individually that people will love you for.
How do you feel about the current state of the adult industry in terms of Trans representation?
The industry has definitely changed in many ways over time, and for the better! I think the trans representation is at its best right now and I’m happy that trans men have become a bigger part of our industry. I still feel there needs to be more representation for people of color and trans BBW girls because they are in our industry and definitely don’t receive equal treatment.
What accomplishments are you most proud of in your professional and personal life?
Having such a long mainstream career is an accomplishment on its own! It’s uncommon for a trans performer to have such a long, successful, ongoing career and still be going strong. Reaching 20 years is a milestone! I thank the higher power for giving me strength, energy, and the health to be able to continue. I’m proud of being inducted in AVN’s Hall Of Fame in 2023, which has always been a goal of mine. I’ve received The TEAs Lifetime Achievement Award, Transcendence Award, Urban X’s Hall of Fame, and most recently the TEA’s 2023 Pornhub Model of The Year. Those awards are a testament to my longevity and hard work in the industry.
Another accomplishment would be in my personal life, taking on the responsibility of supporting and raising five of my nieces and nephews who are all siblings. My mother adopted them and I’ve been supporting them and helping her raise them. That is our family. I’ve learned so much from them and I’ve changed in many ways. I'm happy, and they’re smart and do so well in school and sports. I can now say I'm a proud parent!
Who is Foxxy outside of work? What can we find you doing, reading, watching, listening to? What’s something that keeps you grounded?
Music, dance, and art have always been important to our family, so as kids we were either artists, dancers, or played instruments. To this day, I love dancing and music. I listen to music 80% of my day! Gotta whistle while you work! I don’t get to watch much television when I’m at home because I’m usually busy working or with the kids. My new favorite hobbies are working out, kickboxing and boxing, which I do 5 or 6 days a week if I’m not on the road. I love having fun with friends and family. I’m always trying to get people together for fun times, have that occasional girls night out or family dinner. I love going to the movie theater so I’m there 1 or 2 times a week. As for what keeps me grounded, it’s my family!
What’s next for Foxxy? Any upcoming projects that your Foxxy-fanatics can look forward to?
Honestly, I never know what I’m getting into or what’s next for me. I take one day at a time but I’m definitely enjoying collaborating with other performers. And I have come up with some ideas that I want to put together involving some top trans performers that fans would love to see.
